We've all been exposed to the multitude of diets for quick weight loss in the form of Fad Diets, with promises of losing weight in an instant so we can fit in to those all-elusive skinny jeans. Lose 3 kilos a week, they tell us! Yeah right, what they don't tell us is that losing 3kg a week is unhealthy and can lead to skin sag as well as loss of energy and other more serious health issues.
Weight loss has now become a multi-billion dollar industry. With everyone jumping on the band wagon we are bombarded with tons of useless tips, pills and supplements. It is getting harder and harder to find a legitimate program that is easy to stick to, and one which delivers long lasting results.
What we are all craving is, for someone to show us actual research on why certain foods will help us lose weight, whilst others will impede our efforts. And also to give us some guidelines about a diet suitable for our own body type.
There is no such thing as "one size fits all" diets for quick weight loss. Have you ever wondered why some of your thin friends actually eat more than you do and exercise far less than you do? The reason is that body types were not created equal. Some people have faster metabolisms than others, or perhaps certain foods impede fat loss more for some than others. There are a whole variety of reasons why this happens.
